Working with all stakeholders, RLF developed a concept to enhance patient and family experiences, improve the quality of care and boost staff satisfaction.
Description
RLF provided medical planning, architecture, engineering, low voltage and equipment coordination design services for the renovation of the 9th and 10th floors of the AdventHealth Orlando Patient Tower. The renewal of the floors converted two outdated 39-bed medical/surgical units into identical 26-bed units to support the Orthopedic Institute. The plan provided all private rooms that are sized appropriately to meet current guidelines, AdventHealth's standards and the specific needs of orthopedic inpatient care. With careful planning, RLF achieved a high level of patient room standardization despite challenges that included the unique shape of the existing unit, structural grid and undulation of the exterior wall. Each unit is served by a dedicated rehabilitation treatment and training facility sized to support large group activities.
